The Maa Pateshwari Group of Institutions plans to create Centers of Excellence in our Department of Pharmacy and Department of Paramedical. These Centers will enhance education, research, and healthcare services. The Pharmacy Center will focus on advancing pharmaceutical education, particularly for underrepresented minority students, through scholarships, fellowships, and health disparities research programs. The Paramedical Center will aim to train skilled healthcare professionals with innovative programs and modern facilities. Both Centers will collaborate with top healthcare organizations, host expert speakers, and offer summer and winter camps. This initiative will improve healthcare outcomes in underserved areas and establish our institution as a leader in healthcare education and research
Our Center of Excellence (COE) aims to increase the number of underrepresented minority (URM) pharmacy students, graduates, and faculty who are trained to practice in a culturally competent manner, ultimately improving healthcare outcomes, especially in medically underserved areas.
COE Programs to Achieve This Goal:
Scholar Awards for Student Pharmacists: To increase the number of URM pharmacy students committed to improving healthcare outcomes in underserved areas, we provide financial awards and personal stipends to support their education and training.
COE Scholar Awardees:
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Disparities Research and Outcomes: We train pharmacists to reduce health disparities through pharmacist-provided, community-based interventions in India.
Health Disparities Outcomes Research Support Program: This program addresses social determinants like socioeconomic conditions, health-risk behaviors, and access to quality healthcare, fostering research by our faculty, fellows, and students to identify successful interventions and improve health outcomes.
Faculty Speaker Series & Alumni Talks: Each semester, we host a faculty speaker and an alumni guest speaker. These events bring eminent pharmacists and pharmacy education leaders to share their experiences, inspiration, and insights. Alumni Talks are designed to motivate students by facilitating interactions with successful practitioners who contribute to the community.
COE Events:
Pharmacy Summer Camp for College Students: We host an annual multi-day camp for first- and second-year college students interested in pharmacy, offering them an in-depth look into the profession.
